Understanding user types
There are four user-account types in the Talent Assessment Portal. Each account type has different abilities and limitations.
Single-user accounts
Single-user accounts are stand-alone accounts that are not associated with a multi-user or distributor. Single-users can conduct assessments and can directly purchase tokens from MHS via their TAP account. Most TAP users are set up as single-users.
Multi-user accounts
Multi-user accounts are users who are designated as account administrators, and who are in charge of managing sub-user accounts and sharing tokens. A multi-user account setup is preferred when an organization wants to centralize the administrative functions of several TAP users.
Those with a multi-user account are unable to conduct assessments unless they set up a personal sub-user account for themselves. For more information, please refer to the Getting Started Guide for Multi-Users.
Distributor accounts
A distributor is a designation given by MHS to organizations outside of North America that sell tokens and set up and manage sub-user accounts.
Those with a distributor account are unable to conduct assessments unless they set up a personal sub-user account for themselves. For more information, please refer to the Getting Started Guide for Distributors.
Sub-user accounts
Sub-user accounts (also known as child accounts) are created and managed by either multi-user account administrators or by distributors. While sub-users can conduct assessments, they cannot purchase tokens directly from MHS. Tokens must either be transferred from the multi-user administrator or purchased from the distributor.
If don’t see an option to purchase tokens on the Manage Tokens page, that means you have a sub-user account. If you are the sub-user of a multi-user, you must ask your multi-user administrator for additional tokens. If you are the sub-user of a distributor (which is usually the case outside of North America), you must purchase tokens directly from the distributor.
