How to Add an Individual Student

IMPORTANT: The student’s School, Grade, and Class must have already been uploaded to the app before you can add the student.

  1. Click the Manage Students icon from the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the Add Student icon in the blue banner. The Student Profile screen will appear.
  3. Enter the student’s details. Ensure that all required fields are filled in.
  4. Click Save to return back to the manage student screen.


Bulk Upload

You can upload multiple student records at a time using bulk upload.

Prerequisites

In order to use the bulk upload feature, you must have Excel.
If you don’t have Excel, you can download Excel online for free at https://www.office.com. You can also access Excel online via a Chrome browser.

How to upload multiple records

  1. Click Download Template.
  2. Open the downloaded template and add your data to the file. To prevent errors, please refer to the guidelines located on the second tab called Data Entry Guidelines.
  3. Save the template when you are finished entering data.
  4. Click Attach File and select the file for upload.
  5. Click Upload.

How to correct a template

If there were any errors in the template, the template will not be uploaded. A link will appear called Download Error log.

  1. Click Download Error Log.
  2. Open the downloaded Error Log Excel file to view a list of data errors. Note: The error log will also list duplicate student records.
  3. Open the completed template.
  4. Update the template with the correct data, using the error log as your guide.
  5. Save the template when you are finished updating the errors.
  6. Click Attach File and select the template for upload.
  7. Click Upload.

Edit Students

How to Edit an Individual Student

  1. Click the Manage Student icon in the left navigation menu. A list of your existing students will open.
  2. Click the right arrow [>] beside the student that you want to edit. The Student Profile screen will open.
  3. Make any changes within the Student Details.
  4. Click Save.

FAQ

Can I delete, archive or transfer a student?
Currently, you cannot delete, archive, or transfer a student. We are working on this for a future update!
Can I add a new student record for a school, grade, or class that is not yet in the app?
If you want to add a new student record, the student must belong to a school, grade, and class that already exists in the MGI. If the student record belongs to a school, grade, and/or class that has not been entered, please submit your request to your assigned Onboarding Specialist.
Who else can see my students?
All users in the app who have access to the Students Hub Screen, Track Test Completion, and the Testing Hub Screen can see your students.
What do I do if the wrong student data is uploaded?
If the wrong student data has been uploaded and you want them removed, please contact your MHS primary contact.
How can I update students in bulk?
Currently, editing student records in bulk is not available. If there are multiple student records that need to be edited, please contact your MHS primary contact.
